EyecarePlus Springvale offers bulk billing through Medicare for the majority of services.  However there is a $30 technology imaging fee not covered by Medicare, used to help detect early eye disease.  This imaging is required annually with your eye examination.

EyecarePlus Springvale accepts ALL health funds.  Please check with your private healthcare insurer to find out what you are entitled to with your level of optical cover.  Note that many private health funds operate on a “use it or lose it” basis on a calendar year, so any benefits not claimed during the year expires on 31 December.

Springvale is a popular destination for market shoppers. There is free street parking and also private car parks nearby. Please allow extra time to find parking.

Your optometrist will advise you of the appropriate interval between eye examinations depending on your individual vision and eye health needs.  We will contact you prior to your regular check-up to remind you that you are due to visit us. 

Changes in vision and eye health can be slow and subtle, therefore we recommend regular eye checks to help us to monitor any changes.

Of course, if a problem arises before your regular check-up is due, we encourage you to book an appointment.

There are many symptoms that may indicate the need for a vision analysis including:

  • Headaches, nausea or dizziness,

  • Blurred or double vision,

  • Crossed or turned eyes,

  • Excessive blinking or eye rubbing,

  • Dislike or avoidance of close work,

  • Short attention span,

  • Difficulty reading small print,

  • Frowning or squinting,

  • Difficulty adjusting focus between near and far.
